How do I remove dust/fluff accumulated in washer/dryer after using dryer?

Every time I use the dryer of my washer/dryer, I find that the drum is full of dust and fluff which then covers and coats whatever I then wash in the washing mahine afterwards. I use the dryer twice a week to dry my bed sheets and towels. My machine is a Hoover Performa Plus A Wash 6+4 1250 large load PPW 126.

It might be a good idea to take the lint filter, and wash it with soap and water. If you use dryer softener sheets, they can cause a buildup on the lint filter. Enough buildup can reduce air flow. Here's what Snopes has to say...
