How to fix the overheating problem on my worcester 24i rsf combi boiler?

When the boiler overheats it causes the overheating switch to pop up.

Once the overheating switch is pressed down the boiler fires up and resumes its purpose.

It gets annoying when you are having a shower and the water goes cold because of the above problem as you have to go downstairs and reset the overheat switch. This may happen a couple of times in a 10 minute period.

Sometimes the hot water can run for 20mins and it does not trip.

Could anyone advise how to sort this out.

Thanking you in advance.

My Worcester Bosch is 6 years old and has only had £850 spent on repairs so far but there is another bill in the post for at least £300 after it had more new parts last week. This works out at roughly £166 per annum. As this is less than the insurance by British Gas (£240? and they don't cover heat exchangers I believe), I am still in pocket but a new boiler is a must next year before it goes wrong again, obviously not a Worcester!

I am having exactly the same problem and have had the pump replaced. Have had a technician out who spent ages on the phone to Worcester but still no joy...
Does anyone have any other ideas what might be wrong?
Any help greatly appreciated!!

Check the water pressure fist of all, it should be around 1.5. If that's ok i would replace the pump first of all, but there is a possibility that there is a blockage or scaling in the boiler.
