Epson CX 7800 E90 Error?

I am getting e-90 call for service message. I got that and in fooling with it, it told me 2 cartridges were out so I replaced those. Still got the message. Tried doing set-up utilities and then it tells me that 2 other cartridges were empty (not true!) so I replaced those. Still getting the message. I pressed down good on the top. there is some oily substance on the slider so I think it slides ok. Used compressed air. Don't know what else to do???

I had the same problem, did all the things that where posted. Found that there was a piece of paper that would not allow the ink cartridge holder to glide back and forth when the printer was turned on. I removed the paper, I moved the holder all the way to the left and turned the printer off and on. Once on the holder moved back and forth a couple of times and the error message was gone.

Well I give up - have wasted over $60 in ink today. Epson you suck. Will have to buy a new printer. What a scam eating up the ink and not even printing. Looks like Canon is the one to go with.
