Our stairlift just halted half way up and the LED's on the power box at the top and bottom of the stairs (on the manual button box thing) both went off even though both power buttons were in the on position.

I've since found a penny caught in the track under the top roller, I've pulled it out (nice and bent) but it still won't power up.

Is there a manual reset on it?

I'm not sure what model it is, I think it may be a 933 going by pictures online.

Any ideas?

Hello all,

I have a minivator 2000 that's been working just fine for about five years or so. We left it down at the lower charging station for a few months while my mother moved out and when it came time to fix it we found the none of the led lights were on and it wouldn't budge. I ran through the manual and didn't find anything g that worked, does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

I have acquired a Minivator which was installed originally in 2002. I am in need of an Owner's / Installation manual and wiring diagram. I believe the safety gear has become engaged. New batteries have been installed. Where can I obtain the Winding Handle?

Hi my mum has a minovator it will go up but will only go down so far. The extension arm that goes to the floor wont go down & feels line there is no magnetic pull although arm is stiff. Can you advise please ... Thanks can send pictures if needed

Hi PJ, You need to open the cover on the top side of the pack using 2 phillips screws and pull the plastic tab underneath down to release the cover, you will then see the 2 batteries, these should slide out after removing the support bracket, otherwise the pack will need to be run off, if you need any further assistance with your Minivatior, please contact me at, onestepengineering(at)hotmail.com, service/spares/repairs available, hope this helps, Many thanks

Hi Paul,
I am a stairlift engineer and seeing as a coin got trapped underneath the lift I would say that the fault is down to the safety gear engaging into the track caused by the coin.
If your lift runs on a chain then there are two ways of dis engaging the safety gear to get it working again.
Method 1:Turn lift off at the mains switch which is usually situated at the top of the stairs,remove the oblong aluminium plate situated on the up side of the carriage insert the winding handle into the whole and onto the shaft and turn in the up direction until you can visibly see the stairlift move up an inch on the track.
Remove hand wind refit oblong plate turn the lift back on and drive the lift up.
Method 2:Use this method if you do not have a winding handle.Turn the lift off insert a flat long screwdriver underneath the chain on the upside and pull chain up until you can get your hand underneath the chain.
Then pull the chain upwards towards the ceiling and the slowly let it back down.
Turn the lift back on and run the lift up.
