We have a Bosch dishwasher SGS69L 12GB and have just found a plastic component on the top tray. It measures about 3.5"x1.2", in grey plastic, with what seems to be a spring-loaded shrouded seat at one end and 4 tines and securing clip at the other. Please tell me what this is, where it came from and how I can put it back.

Check your user manual. It could be the tray bake washing attachment which you put in place at the back of the machine once you have disconnected the waterflow to the revolving top arms.
