Turned on switch and heard humming...no grinding or turning action. Used Allen's wrench in bottom of unit numerous times, and it moves freely...nothing appears to be stopping action or seems to be stuck. No reset button...recommended restart is Allen's wrench. Still won't work...just hums. Can I fix this or do I need to buy another one? This unit is 9 years old. No problems until now. Thank you!
Is there a reset button on the 444. Mine was humming then quit all together. Does not appear to be stuck blades as I can turn them by hand. Only 4 years old. Thanks

Buy a new one. The motor start winding has burnt out. Cost of fitting a new motor to a 9 year old waste disposal is uneconomical.
