I have a new laptop with wireless but can't connect to wirless router?

I have recently brought a new laptop with wireless enabled but can not connect to my wireless router. I have tried to connect through windows using my ssid name and wep key for my router so the lap top can connect to the router but it says that there is limited or no connectivity and so when i try to use internet explorer it says unable to connect can you help please.

If you have a new laptop just check to see if the (on/off) switch is on for wireless. If you are looking at your laptop the switch is usually located at the front left hand side. Hopefully this was all it was.

Not sure - when I need to do this I use Control Panel / Network Connections.

You should see a wireless icon - right click on it - select Viwe Available Wireless Networks - you may see nearby routers and should certainly see your own - just connect to it.
