yes it 1 of 2 things. 1 battery is worn out 2 battery is not connecting properly. So clean both outside contacts (middle contact is not used). Reach down inside the battery bay to clean the pick-ups (gently) Return the battery and plug in your charger. If it still does not charge? You need to replace the battery. When you connect the charger the lamp should light red. After a few hours the lamp should go off. I have 2 828z3 the newest would not charge, I needed to swap the batteries to make it charge. I never did discover why. The problem never repeated. From what you have said, your battery is totally discharged. Ni-Lion batteries can become temperamental if left uncharged for extended period.
