Radio/CD player (Pionneer) not working properly on a Renault Grand Espace?

Hi,

I've just bought a 2000 Renault Grand Espace with a Pioneer CD multichanger/radio built in. I've changed the batteries on the handset and I think I've checked all the fuses.

The CD case won't eject.
The radio won't tune in, it bounces from station to station not tuning in to anything but occasionally it picks up a strong but static-y signal but it is the wrong signal (88.8 should be Radio 2 but plays classical music which is Radio 3, 102.2 (the local commercial station) is normally the strongest signal on the block outweighing anything else and strong enough to be picked up without an aerial normally but instead of the usual Alan Joy the Window Man adverts all there is is static and hints of Radio 2).
The radio turns itself on and off seemingly randomly and the satellite controls only seem to have an effect part of the time.
The handset has new batteries and sometimes can turn it on, cause it to scan and change the volume... but not always.
The display works... or at least appears to.

My guess is a crossed wire or faulty chip.

Anyone had a similar fault or know anything about what this could be/what it may cost?

Many thanks,

Alan
