Any way to avoid forking out for power flush?

My central heating is working upstairs but not downstairs& it keeps clicking off & on, called out British gas for them to advise its not covered under their gas plan & they suggest powerflush or to drain, refill & fit a megna clean all of these options are very expensive hundreds of £££, this house is only about 7 years old anyone have any cheaper solutions?

Or is Grittish Bas just pulling a fast one!, have they checked the Pump etc? Powerflush just seems to an everyday cop out at GB

You could take each individual radiator off and flush it out with a hose, but there's no guarantee it'll work. If the system is blocked then the powerflush from british gas will include removal of any blockages and is guaranteed for as long as you have a homecare contract. The fact that the system is only 7 years old would suggest that it hasn't been flushed out properly when it was installed.
