My toilet is leaking from the base onto the floor?

My toilet is leaking water from the base under the bowl onto the bathroom floor, this started happening after dinorod came round to unblock it, what can be done?

I suspect that Mr. Dynorod has disturbed the seal between the loo pan and the soil pipe, unfortunately...its a plastic/rubber labyrinth seal usually and they don't like being upset! Dry everything down with kitchen paper and determine exactly where the leak is coming from.

In the UK it's called a donut ring - soft rubber clamped tight around the syphon tube and the pan by a flat plate drwan down by two wing nuts, one each side underneath at the back.

Sometimes you can cure the leak by just tightening the wing nuts.

Squint sideways along the join line and you should just be able to see the squashed up rubber washer, a thin black line.

Good luck...

When ours did this it needed a new wax ring below it. You have to take up the toilet, remove the old wax ring seal and install a new one before replacing the toilet. We bought our ring at Lowe's and it came with new toilet bolts, too. I think overall it cost less than $10.00.
