Panasonic DVD/HDD recorder DMR-EX85 - no digital tuning?

My recorder has lost its digital tuning. When I redo the setup only analogue channels are picked up. Can it be fixed or does it need to go to an engineer?

Mine too! seems to be a common problem. I priced a new tuner for it, $212 plus freight. can get a whole new unit for $400 with waranty
