How to I open my Kenmore washing machine for repair?

The washing machine will fill up with water and then there is a Buzzing sound and all the lights in the house dim. Now u was told that is was a solenoid problem but i can't figure how to open the top of the washing machine to get it off.

It is a Kenmore Series 90 model 110

Hello,

If your washer is filling to the proper level but won't spin or agitate and the buzzing you hear is coming from underneath the washer, it sounds like you have a bad motor, especially if it dims the lights.

Ok it has triple dispencer one for dry diturgent, one for liquid bleach and one for fabric softener.

Here's what happens it fills the water to the proper level. and then when it trys to fill water from the liquid bleach and fabric softener sections you get the buzzing sound and the burning smell and the dimming of lights. now when it gets past those to stages it works fine.

Now i was told if i remove the solenoid for the liquid bleach and the fabric softener it should work just fine...

Hello,

Does the water fill up to the proper level? Do you hear the same noise when you put the washer into spin? This may be a motor issue also.

Here is how to remove the cabinet:

The whole cabinet is removed in one piece. Start by removing the plastic endcaps (if you have them) on your console. Once these are removed, remove the screws to the console and pull the console towards the front slightly then flipping it back. Under the console you will see the lid switch connector, unplug it. Stick a flat screwdriver into the clips and push handle toward the rear of the washer to release the clips. Once those are out stand in front of the washer grab the middle and side of the cabinet and rock it toward you and place it out of the way.
