How can I clean lint from my Whirlpool 7244E washing machine?

Hi, I have a Whirlpool 7244E washing machine, and after doing research on the internet, have found out that I need to clean the lint filter.
Does someone have a manual for this machine?
I have no idea where the filter is or how to get to it. I have cleaned all bits of the machine that I can get to, but have not wanted to undo parts of the machine.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have been slowly going insane. I thought it was a change to the water in Qld, but now know that there is a lint collector somewhere.
Thanks heaps.

Sorry, don't have an answer. I have never owned a machine with such a bad lint problem. It is driving me crazy.

Hi Kerrie,

If this model is like mine and has the "Magic Clean" lint filter, it is supposed to be self-cleaning. It is a filter ring that is located under the tub and you would have to remove the casing, agitator and the tub to replace it. Maybe it could be cleaned without removing everything -- just taking the casing off to gain access to the filter. Replacing the filter plate ($14-$17) would also require installing a new tub seal gasket ($40). I'm presently debating whether I want to do this. I think I'm going to take my own advice and just try to inspect it and clean the filter and whatever else might have accumulated around it.

Good luck. Hope this helped.
