How can I repair frayed curtain lining in situ?

I have 30 cms vertical fray in lining of fitted curtains.
Can this be easily repaired without replacing the complete lining and without taking down the curtains?

I have south facing curtains. Some of my curtains have started to disintegrate in bright sunlight. Can you replan the linings or just the parts that are falling apart?

30 cms vertical is a lot...but I have mended frayed linings in situ....you will need a small step stool, your ironing board set on high for giants (lol)..a steam iron and some wonder webbing...if you cant get wonder webbing or the eqiivalent use copydex and /or a few stitches to patch. (You should be able to get curtain lining fabric of the same colour and weight for pennies at the thrift shops) Good luck!
