Energy Saving Bulb glowing intermittently?

Last night noticed the energy saving bulb in my bedroom was glowing dimly and briefly every 20 or 30 seconds. I took out the fuse.

bulb could have reached the end of it's life try a replacement and SEE if it lights o k if it does the same as the first bulb may need wiring to the lamp holder checked.
