Sheena, The user instructions for this printer are sketchy and badly written.I had the same problem because I failed to grasp that there are 2 stages to this exercise,viz. 1.press the stop button and the prinhead moves to a position near the centre.This aligns the fault pointer to the problem cartridge to identify it.2 Press the stop button again and the prinhead will do one of two things. i.e.if there is only one faulty/problem cartridge it will move to the desired position to change the cartridge. However if there is a problem with more than one cartridge then the "indicator" phase will occur again until each problem cartrige has been indicated. It will then adopt the desired "change cartridge" position.Hope this helps.
