This is a know issue for Hoover Optima freezers. It gets bad enough to start breaking the plastic covers. Best to defrost regularly. I use a steamer to speed that up. There is apparently a Hoover Service company you could try too on +44 8444 995599

Ensure all foodstuffs are in sealed bags/containers. Check door/lid seals and that door/lid closes evenly and without resistance against cabinet. Finally, too frequent opening of door/lid to be avoided..
