Properly designed PCBs with multiple connectors usually have the plugs and sockets keyed in such a way that it's impossible to mix up the connectors. This stops assembly workers and service people causing expensive damage.
I suggested this on another question for a different washer and an expert told me I was wrong - it was possible on that machine to cross connect - I find this difficult to believe but I've spent most of my life being wrong.
