D.I.Y. Doors how can I fix the handle?

I attempted to lock the door by pushing the handle up and turning the key, however the handle was stiff and when more force was applied the handle gave resulting in it now just spinning around and the door unable to be opened

Yes...that happened to me and it needed a complete locking system....cost £150 in total inc labour.ouch

Sounds like your locking mechanism has bust. it may be time to call in a repair company
