Depends where the disk is located. PC or PVR. PVR should take care of this itself. PC, install drive, if you bought a bare bones drive you`ll then need to download makers software, follow instructions, and it`ll format it for you. If its the only drive (i.e. C drive only), you can do it with fdisk, an old windows prog. Get a boot disk (floppy) made up by any pc shop, asking them to put system software on it as well. Put floppy into PC and boot it up. At the A prompt type dir /o/p to see if fdisk is there,if so cd\enter, type fdisk, and using a bit of common sense away you go! Dont worry if you mess up. (You may need to juggle the above around a bit but I`ve used fdisk every time I`ve installed a new unformatted drive into a pc). You CANNOT damage an unformatted disk with fdisk, its there to get a new disk up and running. Then when done pull floppy, reboot and install windows. Job done! Its a bit long winded but I ALWAYS use fdisk, its so easy.
