Microwave turntable?

The turntable in my Whirlpool microwave (model MH615OXMQ above cooktop) won't turn and it makes a really loud noise (sort of a minor grinding noise) if the turntable is turned on. You can usually just turn the turntable off and the sound will stop. It's just an extra step that I don't always remember to do. I'd like to get it fixed, try to fix it myself or permanently turn off the turntable. I'm pretty handy and would rather not pay to have this fixed if I can do myself. Can you help me and tell me how to fix this? Thanks!

Hi Mary G, no problem really, contact your local whirlpool website, ask them for a turntable motor for you machine and away you go, all thats usually required is a set of cutters and a screwwdriver. Whatever happens please remember you are messing around in a piece of equipment that runs at 4000volts and due to the design of its circuitry under certain fault conditions it remains lethal months after having been disconnected from the mains supply. its not rocket science as they say, but it is not for the layman either. Contact me via microwave-repairs.co.uk if you need further help.
