Vicki, I am having the same problem so I called Sony and talked with a tech. He asked me how many times the red light was blinking in between and for me it is 4 times which means it has a power problem and will need to be taken somewhere to be repaired The # for Sony is 1-239-768-7693 (The service is free) maybe they will be able to help you.
