How can I stop the needles slipping down?

I have just got a knitmaster chunky 150 with a ribber. However now I have set it up I cannot cast on. The needles keep slipping back to the A position before I have chance to put the wool accross the bed. How do I stop this happening. Please can anyone help

Hi Marlene,
Check the condition of the sponge bar - needle retaining bar.
If the foam is flattened it will not put enough pressure on the needles to hold them in the right position.
