How do I shut down the supply and return valves on a gas heating radiator?

I have a little pin-prick leak at the bottom of my radiator and want to turn it off until I can get a plumber to replace it. The leak is not at the valve or pipes.

How do I turn off the return and supply valves on the radiatior so no water will go through the radiator?

close down BOTH VALVES 1 either side of the rad
the 1 will have a cross head top that you screw till the valve is fully closed ,the other end you will have to remove the top with a screwdriver then use a small adjustable spanner to close(count the number of turns the rad is open)
if you have a T R V fitted you remove the top of the T R V via the metal ring under the head of stat then fit the plastic service cap to hold the plunger down
