Sorry, I cannot answer this: I complained about this kettle not pouring properly when I first bought it and they basically washed their hands of it and said their engineers had not had any problems. Now, after two years or so it's started leaking so were getting rid of it and telling people not to buy Kenwood stuff. We've just today bought a Brevil cheap-and-cheerful and will chuck it when it breaks.
Also, I couldn't find a complaints box this time round on their web site; a sure sign they don't care about customer care
