Ravenheat Boiler Wont Ignite ??

Can anybody help please ? When I turn on the hot water tap the boiler doesnt fire up & after approx 30 seconds the red ignition failure light comes on. I have only recently had the ' fan problem ' which after lubricating the system worked perfectly for 6 weeks then all of a sudden....with no warning ....no blooming hot water !!!!! Any suggestions guys ??? cheers

The PCB commonly fails often giving one of the following symptoms:
Fuse on PCB blown - boiler does nothing.
Pump runs but fan not running or erratic.
Pump and fan run but gas valve doesn't open (but check air pressure switch).
Pump, fan & gas valve operate but no spark ignition.
Boiler lights but shuts down after a few seconds because it doesn't detect flame (but check electrode leads and condensate trap if conncted).

PCBs are available on Ebay.

have you checked your fan is running now? what did you lubricate it with? if you used wd 40 or similar big no no it seizes the bearing up! if fan runs ok and at a sufficient speed..check the air presure swith..note wer the wires go to and the tubes..using a multi meter on ohms check that you have continuity between common and normally closed..blowing into it very gently!!! with a constant very lite presure shud here a click..hold the presure and check you now have continuity reading through common an normally open..if thats workin ok id say yer get a service engineer cuz its probs gonna be electrodes solenoid /gas valve or ignition pcb dude hope this helps

Lubricating fans only buys a little time, so has the time come to have the fan replaced, you need the Services of a registered Gas Engineer.
