I was getting the same error for no apparent reason. I opened the lid of the player and moved the laser on the track toward the spindle, closed the cover and the disc started rotating again. The error was gone and the dvd played fine.

Great info above

just before I tried the solution I blew hard around the laser track... worked perfectly... for the moment anyhow!

fantastic mate
at first we had to look up the parts on google images but we moved the laser away towards the edge and the H03 error has disappeared and the dvds play like normal

thanks a lot

i found the following while searching the web regarding the ho3 error code and have tried it with slight success. the only problem is that i keep having to repeat the steps. i believe there may be dust or something in the track unit that keeps jamming it ( i can not investigate further because the cables keep the housings so close together).........

"For the people who already own the device, I saw a solution posted for the HO3 error on the internet by a user named Hossan, and it worked after I tried it myself. All you need is a small Phillips screwdriver. Remove all 12 screws from the back of the player. After removing the back cover, you will see the unit with the laser lamp mounted on rubber suspensions. Carefully lift the unit off the suspensions. Turn the unit around carefully so that the cables don't come off. Close to the servo motor, you will see a small black thumb wheel. Turn it, and the laser lamp should move along the rotating shaft. Turn the thumb wheel, so that laser lamp moves away from the center towards the edge. That should release it from the stuck position. All this takes maybe 15 minutes. Don't let some service guy talk you into shelling out a hundred or more dollars for repairs."
