IKEA LIGHT?

I have just fitted a ceiling light from Ikea in the bathroom, it all seems to be fine, when i fitted it i could not attach the Earth wire to the base as its only got L&N. i have just left it inside the fixings not attached to anything !!!!!! WILL THIS BE OK.

If it has a double insulation symbol (two concentric squares) it doesn't need an earth, so the earth should be kept safe in a bit of 6A terminal block.
Appliances and fittings may have a metallic casing but still be double insulated.

If it has a plastic base it is ok, but if it has a metal base it must be earthed. If there is a fault with the lamp the metal base could become LIVE and cause a electrical shock if touched. A metal base should have an earth attatchment.
