There isn't 'an answer' to this problem, as such; it can't be fixed. The cause is due to Sony's cost-cutting in the area of R&D on virtually ALL of it's products. The 'thinking' behind this is that those niche products which were the staple on which Sony built its reputation are now a distant memory. Competition is so stiff in these consumer-electrical markets that corners have had to be cut because the returns no longer justify sufficient investment in quality & reliability. The single best exception to this taudy state of affairs appears to be their gamestations which have been alone in generating handsome profits.
