RCA F32650 32" TV Doesn't turn on from the remote control?

Our RCA TV model F32650 32" doesn't turn on from the remote control. The controls on the top work to turn on, change channels, adjust volume, ect. I bought a original replacement remote control and it still doens't work. So i am sure the problem is with the tv, not the remote. Is there a way to test the tv ir receiver?

RCA F32650 Found the problem and the fix for remote not working

www.partstore.com
Enter Make = RCA
Enter Model = F32650

Partstore Part Number is: 245282
RCA 245282 IC IR RECEIVER [HD61LPW164YX4(M1)] = $5.90

Bad part is a little IR receiver that is mounted on the control board of the top of the TV - This unit will slide out from the front but you have to be careful not to break the clips.

Once removed, You will need to remove the old IR and solder in the new one.

If you dont want to mess with solder The front control board can be bought for about $100.00 P/N is 249142

I have the same problem, I think it is in the IR receiver on the top of the TV

I am trying to find out if I can replace that top switch microboard or need to re-solder a new IR Receiver.

Any help would be appreciated if I am moving in the right direction and where I can order the part on line.

People often try to turn TVs on by using the on/off key on their remote. Most TVs do not work this way. To turn a TV on, press the channel up or down keys or one of the channel numbers. Use the remote's on/off key only to put the TV into standby.
