broken fuse in pedal?

hi
how can i fix my frister & rossmann model 27. turned it on today it was fine, machine was switched on, then all of a sudden it started sewing by itself, then a smell of burning and smoke coming out of pedal.
i know its old but i love it ...can i get a replacement fuse from anywhere.
please help

Undo the foot control, take out the suppressor that looks like a small fuse and discard it, you don't need it.

I don't know sewing machines but I know enough to know that there's no fuse in the pedal and broken fuses seldom smoke. Have seen several similar problems reported on here and the experts always say it's a blown up capacitor - a relatively simple and cheap fix for someone confident with capacitors.
