help needed with lcd monitor problem?

I have a Proview Electronics (Taiwan) Co.,Ltd
Phillips Flatpanel monitor model PHP-X19

On switch on the screen lights up with the correct computer data (but with poor colours) but then after only a second or so the monitor switches into standby and the screen goes blank.Switching on again and the cycle repeats.
Help or advice in fixing the problem would be welcome or the name of a repair workshop in the Oxford area please.

I need the same info if you have it - thanks.

Hi Derek, I have the same problem as yourself and it would seem the capacitors on the power board require replacing. Have you managed to open up your monitor yet? I have removed the stand, also the two screws at the bottom of rear panel and tried to open it by inserting a blade into the four slots on the lower edge but the rear cover will not budge. Would appreciate to know how you got inside it and if you got it fixed yet. Cheers.

i.e. Replacement may be a better option than repair
