Problem with Hotpoint WM63?

After replacing drum, bearings, module and timer, washer seeemed to be able to complete a full cycle with drum empty, but when it had a load something blew inside. Could the motor's brushes need replacing? Any idea what the problem could be?

Hi Wayne,
We have a WMA33 and we had a similar problem. I ended up changing the motor and the PCB module. The machine works fine now. New motor £94, new PCB module £93. Look at the back of the PCB module and see if it looks carbonised, if it is the board may be your problem. Send your board to www.qualityelectronicrepairs.co.uk and they will fix it for half the price. Do your house lights flicker when your machine is trying to turn and is there flashing from the back of the motor?
