header tank getting hot?

Have been asked to look at my friends boiler for her, the water in the header tank in the loft is getting hot like tap hot. The pump in the airing cupboard is running continuosly and is to hot to touch. The boiler is running most of the time with the heating turned off and there is always plenty of hot hot water. could this poss be a diverter valve or a boiler issue. Many thanks Darren

Hi Darren, sounds like a fault with the controls as the boiler is running all the time, somthing is calling for heat, poss valve stuck open needs to be sorted ASAP tank in loft could collapse, advise you turn off boiler to be safe.
