What is a Tiger loop Valve?? I think you are refering to the Fire Valve, which is not made by Tiger loop,
if it's a Peerless, Teddington or FEL Type Valve the Button should be pressed firmly IN.
If it's a Boulter supplied Valve with a Tee shaped body the plunger should be pulled firmly OUT.
