I don't know this machine but vacuum cleaners are basically a fan in a box and the box has an air inlet hole and and air outlet hole. The drawn air, beyond the dirt collector and filters, is used to cool the motor and you will often notice that the exhaust air is rather warm.
My guess is don't do it - it may be dangerous to you and poor old Kirby might object too. But that's just a guess - what does the user guide say?
