Where is the LAN line located and how do I check to see if it is connected?

My dell computer says that my LAN line is disconnected. I've checked all the connections and they seem to be secure. Where is the LAN line located and what do I do next?

It depends on the PC but generally the LAN cable is plugged into a socket at the back of the PC.

If your machine works correctly you need not worry about the LAN connection message. There's a built in Ethernet Network card and the message is merely saying there's no wire plugged into it - information and not an error.

I guess you connect to the internet wirelessly - the LAN card permits you to connect a wire between your machine and the Router should you wish to - or to any wired network. If it's really annoying, you can turn off the network card via Control Panel & Network Connections.

Good luck...

Lan line is your network connection to the internet, or internal network. NOT m/c specific, usually on the back, you have a plug in lead, if it normally goes to a Hub or some internet connection check the connections to that. reboot everything
If that does not sort it. contact your isp
