How to hook-up for wireless internet?

I have a Sony Viao laptop and just got an older Mac (not a laptop). I want wireless internet but don't know what I need and how to do it. My internet provider is through my cable company.

Houston we have a problem, you crack me up Terry hehe.

I have seen many many wireless routers on Ebay for cable connections, if you do have the USB option Terry spoke of, try there.

Your cable company will habve provided a 'cable modem'. Hopefully it is connected to your PC by a cable which you have connected to a port on your PC marked "Ethernet". If it is aaatched to a USB port thenm we have a problem Houston.

So it you are currently connected as described you need a 'wireless router' plus wireless cards for your PC and Mac. (The PC may have it built in.) Now connect the router to the cable modem. You now have a 'Wireless Access Point & 'Router.

Make sense so far?
