the pilot light has gone out on my myson midas sfi-how do I get it back on?

How do I get the pilot light back on and is it safe me to do this or should it be a gas safe qualified person?

i'm pretty sure this boiler has automatic ignition, so pilot light itself. if it's not firing the most common prob that i've come across on this boiler is the overheat thermostat needs re-set. depending on the serial number of the boiler you may be able to re-set it using a small button on the top of the boiler at the front right hand side, if that's not there then it's inside the boiler. best to have a qualified engineer to look at it either way as if it has overheated then there will be a reason for it. it may also be any number of other problems. best to consider a replacement boiler due to the age, running costs, reliability and parts availability on this boiler
