If you were to reset a dishwasher say, half way through its cycle and then start it again it would have too much water in it and get very confused - no dishwasher I have owned has had a reset facility other than pulling the mains plug out for a few minutes. Once started they prefer to run through a complete cycle to the end.
If the water in your dishwasher is cold then it's very probably a defective heating element and a reset button would not repair a broken heater.
You probably need an engineer.
