Bernina Record 730 Sewing Machine?

There's a short piece of thread stuck above the bobbin holder, I have no manual, so how do I remove it? I have removed the bobbin.

Also, it seems to be just doing really tiny stitches, how do I make them longer?

Also, it doesn't seem to go along as you sew, it sits in one place and sews unless I manually pull the material through. Any ideas?

This machine has recently been serviced and had a couple of new parts put in, one of which was the bobbin holder.

Hello Claire,
You need to take the bobbin case out, undo the two clips and take the raceway out that is the half moon shape to get the thread out, make sure you have enough pressure on the presser foot, with the teeth up you should not be able to pull the material through, if you can then increase the pressure, make sure your stitch length is set properly.
