Changing brushes on a Zanussi washing machine!?

I have put washing machine on its back and found the motor and I think found the brushes but I dont' know how to get them out, any ideas?

motor brushes held to the side of the motor casing with two pozi screws each or two 5.5mm nut headed screws.once screws have been removed they just pull off
