What makes you think that it is set on pulse? You can check by listening to the dialing when you press a number key. If the phone beeps, it is set for tone, if it clicks it is pulse. Dual standard phones (quite rare now) will have a switch on them. If your phone really is set to tone move the switch to the direction that is marked: MF or MFT or MFE or Tone. BTW. In the case of a cordless phone, that switch is usually on the Primary Base Station
