Safety cap will not screw tightly ,what to do? Have ordered new one but am now wondering if the fault is with the fixture onto which it screws and what best to do. Pensioner with little cash for repairs.

i am trying to get the screws out from the casing and i havnt got anything that will unscrew them any advice what i can use to remove screws

Have you tried removing the cap and giving it a hard tap on a hard surface? I think it has a safety valve that can stick open.
Also, if you should find in the future that it stops generating steam, give a good blast of air from an air compressor through the outlet nozzle, this clears gunk that builds up.
