suddenly my lap top wont power up?

while using my pc it froze and only way i could get it to do anything was to unplug it and remove battery,it wouldnt respond to ctrl, alt, delet or the power button. i installed battery, pluged it up, hit power, the power lite lit up, the drive lite lite for couple seconds then wet out,all the other lites work including the fan yet the pc will not do anything else, nothing on screen, doesnt boot or even tryt. its a toshiba lap top 135A-2266 with vista home basic. it worked fine till this happened. it wasnt damaged, just quit, anyone else have this happen?

You didn't say how old the laptop is but I would think it is the battery. If it is under warranty they will send you a new one. If not try online for that model number.
