How can I mend a broken glass shelf in a fridge?

It's a Zanussi Freezone fridge and the glass shelf on top of the hydrator has split in two. What should I use to mend it? I am thinking glue and tape/film (like the stuff you can get to reinforce glass) but I'm not sure. Thanks

if you still have the glass measure it and get it replaced from a glazier it will only cost a couple of pounds.
