Noisy thermostatic radiator valves?

I have Danfoss thermo radiator valves fitted to all my radiators. One of them makes a very anoying buzzing noise when the heating is on. If I give it a tap, or alter the setting, it stops for a while, but starts buzzing again after a few minutes. Can I Dismantle the valve without having to drain the system down ???

hi I have a valve which rattles and have just noticed it is on the wrong (cool) end of the radiator. Bet that's the reason!

Beware I had a similar problem for two months or so then the valave sprang a leak. I would replace it if I were you.

this thermostatic rad valve may be on wrong if it is not unidirectional. it may be on the wrong way round eg on the return rather than the flow.turn the heating on see which pipe gets hot first thats the flow does the arrow on the trv match the direction of the water

I found that I could take the top (the bit where the actual thermostat is) off mine without draining. There is a nut or ring just under it. You may be able to get a replacement or buy the whole thing and just replace the top.
