door repair to panasonic microwave NNA554?

the door does not shut. the hooks at the back of the door are no longer spring loaded. How can I correct this problem
Mickey, October 2009
Same thing happened to my nna554.
I'm in the process of gluing the spring post back on with araldite building the glue up around the base for strength.
It is beginning to look very sturdy and I will order a new latch hook as one of the hooks broke also due to me knocking it.
I would not pay £70 to have the door replaced as it's a shoddy design and the plastic post the retracting spring clips on to is likely to break again.

Mine is doing the same. I have gently levered out the dark plastic inner pannel which has allowed me to see that the plastic spring mount which is attached only at one end to the inside of the white door cover has snapped off. In my case the entire white plastic outer panel of the door needs replacing and I have been quoted £70 approx by a Panasonic repair specialist to carry out the repair. If I could find a source for the white panel alone I'd be tempted to do it myself. Wish I'd stuck with my Sharp.
