AEG Lavamat 88730 how do you clear C3 error?

The washing machine was showing C2 error. Didn't switch off to clear the blockage and I believe the washing machine needs resetting - error message now showing c3

it is a flooding alert. There is either water in the base of your machine or escaping the hoses OR, the most possible scenario, your filter needs cleaning. Before you go and remove the back panel of the machine to check for water in the base of the machine, remove the front panel covering the drain and filter (it's a little door on the front of the machine that opens just by pressing on it without using screwdriver to remove it), catch the water from the drain hose and then unscrew and clean the filter. I had this error occur over a 5 cent piece in the filter.

Set up a cleaning schedule for your machine like you would for your drier. Clean the filters on a regular basis to avoid this problem.

I have had this occur 4 times now in 12 years since I bought the machine, and every single time it was due to foreign matter in the filter.

have you got water in the base and the safety overflow float switch activated?.if so dry the base out and find out where water came from.you will need to remove the back panel to do this.easy job.
